We call it the "Forgotten Province" as attention has turned to other high profile exploration gold regions. In reality the Stawell Corridor was one of the first major Victorian gold precincts hosting large mineralised deposits. It continues to successfully produce gold and there has been a surge in exploration activities.
In November 2024 leading gold explorers and producers attended the Stawell Gold Conference to raise awareness, discuss and present on one of Victoria's premier gold producing zones.
